WHOOP REVIEW (CrossFit)

Video

Description

Hey guys! Here is my review of the Whoop bracelet. I’ve worn it everyday for about five months and I would recommend this to anyone looking for more insight into how their body is responding to training/recovery. It is expensive ($500) but totally worth it. If I forget to wear it one day I’m really upset that I’m not registering data.

A few things:
Whoop only calculates your cardiovascular strain so if I’m going for a one rep max back squat or even 5×5 then my strain won’t go up very much. I don’t think it calculates the strain on your central nervous system (well it does calculate your HRV so you can figure if your CNS is shot based on your HRV score).

Whoop is pretty comfortable, I wear it when I sleep and it totally doesn’t bother me. I do NOT wear it in the shower because once the band gets wet it stays wet all day; super annoying. So I wouldn’t wear it swimming unless I was training laps.

You have a charger that comes with your whoop as an external battery which you charge, and your whoop lasts a good two days. Takes about an hour to charge.

Do I REALLY Listen to what it tells me to do? AKA if it says I’m poorly recovered will I train anyway?

Honestly I follow my data the best I can, and it really helps me train according to my body. If I’m 30% recovered I don’t feel great at the gym, I feel 30% recovered so I will do a light workout and leave.

But if it says prepare for max strain, you better believe I’m in the gym for three hours trying to reach the number it tells me to!

I WOULD totally recommend this bracelet to serious athletes looking for ways to train smarter! 🙂 (I’m not paid to say this, it really is a great product).

Hope you enjoyed this week’s episode guys!
