BENEFITS OF HOT YOGA | YOGA TUTORIAL

YYOGA hot yoga teacher trainer, Lisa Sanson, discusses the benefits of YHot – our signature hot yoga offering.

In our studios, YHot is practiced in 40 degree heat with 40% humidity. YHot is a 60 minute set sequence, however this sequence can be practiced at home (without the heat), and because it is a set sequence is can be incredibly meditative and beneficial to the body.

Expect a set sequence of slow, held postures practiced in a hot room with an emphasis on alignment.

Lisa loves this practice because of the consistency it offers, allowing her to feel it in more of an easeful way. This consistency creates a groundedness in the practice — and of course, you get a great sweat!

Lisa is a lifetime learner, always seeking to have a deeper experience of being alive. She loves having conversations; juicy, deep discussion with loved ones, inquisitive talk with strangers or chatting over the fence with her neighbours. Being out in nature enlivens her; surfing, SUP-ing, snowboarding, hiking or walking in the forest with my dog. Travel excites her; whether she is immersed in a different culture or on a road trip to visit her folks, it fires her up just the same. Lisa’s greatest inspiration is human connection and the exploration of self that is required to develop this connection. She believes this journey encompasses the full spectrum of the human experience and is one of life’s greatest adventures.

Yoga is a physical activity, and even with clear instruction there is always the possibility of injury. Before practicing any of our online classes, please consult a physician regarding any and all matters involving your personal health and including without limitation: (a) any prior or existing injuries; and (b) your ability to participate in the programs offered by YYOGA at Home.
