Aerial Yoga: Grounded Flow

Video

Description

This is a grounded Aerial Yoga flow using the Aerial hammock as a prop to deepen the understanding of traditional yoga postures. It’s always fun to throw in a little fun non-traditional play time also! I love to use this prop to experience traditional postures with a different perspective. Taking urdhva padmasana and pindasna inverted is helpful to find different physical exertion points and experience the posture gravity free. This will translate to the floor practice and hopefully assist in finding a bit more freedom in the postures. Salamba sirsasana can be approached several different ways using the hammock as an aid to build foundation for a free standing head stand. I love using the hammock to practice dwi pada viparita dandasana without compressing the lumbar spine or incorrectly distributing weight throughout foundation points. This is a grounded practice with little flying, but a lot of strengthening. Always have fun, and enjoy the process of the practice!
