Video

Description

A traditional Sanskrit-counted Led Primary Series Ashtanga asana class (in the tradition of Sri K Pattabhi Jois, as taught at KPJAYI in Mysore). Filmed at ASHṬĀṄGA NIRVṚTA homestay yoga retreat, in the Western Ghats of South India.

Class is led by KPJAYI Certified teacher and practitioner Philippa Asher and features students with a range of ages and experience, from complete beginners (learning the Standing and Finishing Sequence), to half Primary Series practitioners and a few students who are attempting all of the Primary Series asanas.

Sanskrit-counted Primary Series class ends the Ashtanga asana week. The first four or five practice days are for Guided Self-Practice, where practitioners with a range of experience and age, practise side by side, whilst the teacher guides and assists each practitioner individually.
