This is Week One of my year going through Troy Nelson’s Guitar Aerobics (Hal Leonard ISBN 978-1-4234-1435-3). At the moment, I’m not able to get to lessons, so have put this book into my regular practice rotation – although I still do lots of other stuff too. It’s a fun thing that keeps me on my toes. This is, in fact, my second time through the book, and I’m going through it more carefully now, making sure I cover material I didn’t work so hard on the first time!

It takes about 15 minutes per day. You do every exercise about 10x each at gradually increasing tempi. If you can’t manage an exercise, practice it until you can! Some are easy – even too easy – and some are difficult right from the get-go.

In my videos, I show each exercise twice through at the slowest, at a medium and then at the fastest tempo, but I do, in fact, play all repetitions of every exercise at every tempo each day.
