Yoga Nidra is deep relaxation with inner awareness. A form of guided meditation where you lie down and evolve. Referred by the ancients as “Peace beyond words”. A systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. To remember and reinforce internal tools to ride the waves of life with intention and attention. Grace and ease. To release stress, build new pathways in the brain and strengthen the immune system.
This Yoga Nidra a gift of love for self healing. From the seat of the witness, Drashta Bhava, we being the practice of pratyahara – the withdrawal of our senses. We move to make a resolve or a sankalpa to plant the seeds of healing. This 8 stage Yoga Nidra work progressively over time and should be practiced regularly.
Based on the work of Swami Satyananda Saraswati and the Bihar School of Yoga as taught to me by Swami Karma Karuna & Sannyasi Pragyadhara in the brilliant Kawai Puripuri Advanced Teacher Training Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga Module.
