About the beautiful and rich tradition of sacred, devotional music of Sikhism, and the myth of “kundalini mantras and yoga” which is a western invention and never has existed in India, even less in the Sikh tradition.
The Sikh tradition has an extensive and deep religious and musical tradition. For the lovers and followers of this tradition in the west, it is important they know what it really is, to honor its true roots, presentation and practices. Specially in the US and Europe many people adopted or converted into the “Sikh” religion after meeting Yogi Bhajan… but from outside, because mostly have no connection with the Sikhism from India and its culture. Many did it to just get into the Yoga and Mantra business, which is not even part of Sikhism.
The tradition of Sacred music from Sikhism, with Gurbani and Kirtan, is beautiful and unique and we will cover it in our documentary about sacred music from India.
