Yoga Pose Breakdown:

1 – Standing figure 4 / seated figure 4
•bring ankle to opposite knee
•sink hips
•press lifted knee towards ground
•stretches hip flexers/quads/glutes

2 – Runner’s lunge
•bring hands to inside of front foot
•keep knee stacked or behind ankle
•rock forwards and back
•open knee out wide allow sole of foot to open
•come down onto forearms
•stretches hip flexers

3 – Low crescent lunge
•front knee stays over front ankle
•press hips forward
•keep tailbone tucked to take curve out of lower back
•pull belly button into spine to engage core
•stretches front of hips

4 – Half splits
•send hips backwards to stack over back knee
•flex front toes toward body
•guide chest forward and down keeping back flat
•hands go outside your front knee
•stretches hips, hamstrings, calves and low back

5 – Side lunges
•feet are parallel
•bend one knee sending body weight into that side
•send hips down and back
•stretches inner thighs
