How to Avoid my mistakes:
1. Find your Why. Try the 5 Whys (look for intrinsic goals)

2. Not exhausting linear progression – not following a long term systematic progression
– Overload
– Skill acquisition
– Stress management

3. Not following a program: most people don’t understand what it takes to make long term progress. Follow something structured

4. Isolation Movements over Compound Movements
– Bench Press OVER Pec Fly
– Squat OVER Leg Extension
– Which is easier to overload, which will build your skill, what movement has higher intensities?

5. Working off of a true 1RM, not a training max
– Raising your daily minimum is a great indicator of progress
– Ensures that on youre moving forward on your best and worst day
– Hard to program off of your all-time peaked 1RM (under specific conditions)
– Using the specific conditions of a peaked 1RM does not make sense to work off

6. Eating the wrong thing before your workout
– Avoid gastrointestinal distress
– High-glycemic, fast digesting carbohydrates
– Avoid high fat meals

7. Giving unsolicited advice
1. Novice+ applying their own experience or things that might have helped them
1. They can only speak to their own experience
2. Immediately prescribing common fixes to complete beginners

8. Wearing your belt too tight
1. Belt too tight
2. Wrist wraps wrong
