Iyengar Inspired Yoga Flow – Handstand Core Power Yoga

Video

Description

Thank you for joining me on this Iyengar inspired Yoga flow journey! Hope you enjoy every sacred moment. In this sequence we will explore postures to prepare for handstand and finally enjoy invigorating jumps into handstand.

Kindly note that this sequence is for intermediate Yoga practitioners and not suitable for beginners or menstruating women, anyone with high blood pressure, eye conditions, neck or shoulder injuries. Please always check with your health care practitioner before practicing online Yoga.

The sequence includes strength building postures like Adho Muhka Svanasana, Vashistasana and Hand Stand (Adho Mukha Vrksasana). We also open the legs with Parsvottanasana and Urdhva Prasaritta Eka Padasana (standing split). You will enjoy lots of standing forward folds like Uttanasana to lengthen the spine and Ardha Matsyandrasana 2 to twist and awaken your spine.

It is a very invigorating, powerful sequence so best to practice in the morning or early afternoon. Otherwise it can leave you a little over energised at night.

Kindly note that Yoga is a powerful form of physical and mental exercise that has the ability to open, strengthen and transform energy patterns in your body-mind system, but like any other physical activity, the practice of Yoga also exposes you to the risk of injury.

It is important that you breathe with ease during your Yoga practice, so if you find that your breath is stressed, then this sequence may be a little too advanced for you at this moment.

Please take care and practice in a way that nourishes your body, mind and soul. Do not over exert your capacity and rest whenever you need to. If you have any existing injuries or health concerns, please consult your medical doctor before practicing this sequence and be sure exactly how to modify the postures according to your condition.

Once you are sure this sequence is for you, then have fun and practice with a happy heart!

Much Love,
Mel xx
