Hi! I’m Christina, and welcome to my yoga YouTube channel, ChriskaYoga! This class will give you helpful suggestions of how to do some of the more challenging yoga poses at the wall to assist you in balancing and getting stronger. We’ll be doing a 30-minute yoga class using the wall.

Yoga Props Needed:
Yoga Blocks or thick books
Yoga Blanket or thick towel
Yoga Strap or belt/scarf

We will begin this routine laying on the ground on our backs. Press the bottoms of your feet into the wall as if you are standing on it, and take a supine mountain pose (tadasana). Using your strap, you will then straighten one leg at a time up towards the ceiling stretching your hamstring to promote flexibility (supta padangustasana). After this, we’ll come to standing and take puppy dog pose or downward dog at the wall. This is a great option if you have wrist pain and cannot bear weight on your hands.

We will then flow from this puppy dog pose to a shoulder and chest stretch using the wall. Next we will come into cat and cow pose with our feet at the wall, downward facing dog pose (adho mukha svanasana), and high lunge on both sides (crescent lunge).

We will then face the wal and take a few poses to improve your balance. First we will place the foot on the wall in front of us, then come into warrior 3 pose (virabhadrasana 3), triangle pose (uttitha trikonasana), and half moon pose (ardha chandrasana) on both sides.

After the standing poses, we will come into our inversions, which will include handstand (adho mukha vrksasana) and headstand (sirsasana). The final pose will be a brief meditation with the legs up the wall (viparita karani).
