Bikram yoga is generally a 90-minute session at 40 degrees centigrade in a temperature controlled classroom environment. The sessions include moving through 26 postures (asanas) and two breathing exercises (pranayamas) all of which are demonstrated from the front of the class with a professional teacher. Bikram Yoga is suitable for all ages and skill levels and the new Marbella centre welcomes true novices to come and try! In Bikram Yoga there are no levels. No matter the physical condition, age or gender.
These 26 postures systematically move fresh and oxygenated blood throughout the body.
All the organs, glands, tendons, ligaments, bones, all the cells of your body, your emotions, your mind and your spirit are worked on. The good and continuous practice of this series is equivalent to the combination of an aerobic, anaerobic exercise, a massage, meditation and anti-stress therapy all in one! The heat is said to help our body burn fat more effectively, redistributing it over the muscular structure. So, if you have extra kilos to lose it is quite normal to lose a few centimetres all over your body in a short time.
The Class timetable can be found by clicking the weblink or by contacting the team but generally they are at 10am, 11am, 12am or 7.30pm.
